Nadine Baurin is a professional painter who works in oil as well as watercolor. An avid traveller, she is greatly inspired by her journeys throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe where she's had periods of independent studies to further her art training. Nadine exhibits her art in San Diego and Los Angeles and has been collected in the U.S. (mainly New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, Del Mar, San Diego) and abroad as far as Argentina, France and Australia.
Worked and reworked into a series of shapes and colors ranging from rich, luminous hues to earthy, classical tones, Baurin’s paintings exude an expressive candor characterized by a rhythmic and dynamic undertone. Her method involves a long process of reworking multiple layers of paint and turning the canvas ever so often as she continues to dig, wipe and blot the painting until layer upon layer intertwined in this controlled chaos, an image emerges taking over and influencing the direction of the piece. Juxtaposed against the transitory shapes embedded within her paintings Baurin’s oeuvre denotes an unequivocal spontaneity characterized by the uninhibited application of paint to canvas, creating images that are charged with boldness, energy and emotion.
